Xpressions is a fashion student organization focused on uplifting the voices of people of color. At the end of the 2023/2024 school year, it hosted it’s first annual end-of-year fashion show. “Echoes to our Roots” showcased decades of black fashion with 60’s to 2000’s decades as well as a futurism show. It also featured fashion to go along with Nina Scott’s thesis work on Afro-Absurdism. The fashion show doubled as a launch for the print magazine, “The Artisan Issue” which the club had produced.
As a member of Xpressions and the Executive Producer of the magazine, I decided to cover the process of making the show come to life and create a photo story on it.
